Brandon Manitoba Wedding Photography

As a Brandon Manitoba wedding photographer, I have been to more weddings than most people will ever attend in their lifetime. Having seen a variety of wedding days, lots of ups, a few downs, I have a few pieces of advice for you as a newly engaged couple as you search for a Brandon Manitoba wedding photographer. These pieces of advice come whole heartedly from myself, including from when I planned my own wedding, so it's a bit personal, but I think it works for everyone and I hope you find it useful in thinking about your wedding day.

Planning

Plan to enjoy your day! Plan, plan, plan your details and timeline until everything lines up and you have created the perfect party to celebrate the next chapter in your lives together. On the day of the wedding, things will inevitably come up. Decisions will have to be made and changes will ultimately happen. Allocate someone in your family or wedding party to deal with these questions and decisions. That was the best decision we made on our wedding day. It is your day to enjoy, and too often I see the bride and groom hustling and bustling people or dealing with absolutely every decision on the day. Please trust that you have done your best in the planning process pre-wedding by choosing reliable, and amazing vendors and just plan to spend the day savouring the true essence of the day with each other, with your closest friends and family. Your photographer can help you plan your wedding day timeline, stick to it, and plan for photography and various weather conditions that may come up.

Pricing

Think about what is going to make your wedding day memorable, and get the best service provider that you can afford. For me, that was my wedding photographer, DJ and venue that had the best food and lots of space for dancing! While personal touches are also essential to set the stage for an amazing event, those can be fun DIY projects that don't need a big budget. A great wedding photographer works really hard for you on your wedding day to capture your wedding memories in a story telling way, and knows the best angles to shoot from, has an amazing camera and lenses which are incredibly good in low light situations, and has the knowledge, confidence and experience to deal with any situation that might come up on your wedding day. Your wedding day will be one of the most memorable days of your life, but when the dance party is over, you will look back on the day as it flew by in a blur and your wedding photography is the one thing that will preserve all those memories and moments - even the ones you didn't notice - for many years to come.

Personality

Choose a photographer with a personality that you like and feel comfortable around. You are going to be spending all day, and one of the most important days of your life with this person around, you are going to want to like them personally! Make sure you also feel comfortable around the photographer and how they go about shooting the wedding. The engagement session is a great dress rehearsal for this. Every photographer has their own style of posing and the energy they bring to the photo session and the way they get you to smile.

Style

By looking at the photography of several Brandon wedding photographers, you will start to see how each photographer's style and the way they photograph weddings is unique. You will start to see photographers whose style you really like and you can easily imagine having those images of your own up on your walls or in an album for years to come. Figure out the style of photography you are looking for from your wedding photos and what you are planning to use your photos for. Documentary, photojournalistic photographers capture spontaneous, unposed photos of people, decor and the action. You will rarely see people staring into the camera, the photos focus on the moments exactly as they happened and together tell a story. Portrait photographers create and direct intimate and group posed photos. There are many Brandon Manitoba wedding photographers who are talented at both photojournalistic and portrait styles, and many Brandon photographers who are strong in one or the other, so it is important to know what style you like and to find a photographer whose work you love.
